Background
DCEO recently received a Job-Driven National Emergency Grant (NEG) AKA Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) from USDOL totaling $6.175 million to train and place eligible dislocated workers in high-demand Information Technology occupations and employment.  The project targets the long-term unemployed, UI recipients profiled as likely to exhaust their benefits and foreign-trained immigrant dislocated workers facing barriers to employment in their trained field/profession.  The grant period will be October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2016. All LWIAs are eligible to apply for the JD NEG/DWG project.

There was a webinar provided on August 19th, 2014 that covered the job-driven service delivery, the various tools to assist you, and the grant application process. Download the presentation and grant application below.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) Labor Market Information (LMI) contact is Chris Reynolds (reynoldsc1@comcast.net); LWIAs can contact him directly.
