Apprentice Ambassadors 2024

Apprentice Ambassador Program
In 2024, the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board's Apprenticeship Illinois Committee formed a network of diverse apprentices and apprentice graduates of all ages and backgrounds from regions across the state in multiple industries. Apprentice Ambassadors serve as champions of apprenticeship programs in Illinois by sharing success stories and promoting apprenticeships to career seekers, employers, and educational institutions through community outreach, business/apprentice engagement, personal networks, and events.

What is IWIB?
The Illinois Workforce Innovation Board (IWIB) consists of leaders from state, business, industry, labor, education, and community-based organizations whom Governor Pritzker appointed to evaluate and meet the workforce needs of Illinois employers and workers. The IWIB's Apprenticeship Committee is one of five committees dedicated to expanding and diversifying apprenticeship programs and apprentices.

Program Goals/Activities
Serving as an Apprentice Ambassador is a professional development opportunity that exercises valuable teamwork, leadership, and public speaking skills. Ambassadors are hard-working, passionate leaders collaborating with IWIB members to strengthen Illinois apprenticeship programs through innovation and creativity.
