Observed annually in November, Transgender Awareness Week (11/13 – 11/19) is a time to help raise awareness about the transgender community and the issues members face. This week "transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community."

The Association of Latina/o/x as Motivating Action (ALMA) fights for the rights of the Latina/o/x Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning community by advocating for fairness and equality, and affirming Latinx LGBTQ culture.
