    Advancing the Development of Minority Entrepreneurship (ADME) Business Workshop

    Are you interested in starting your own business or becoming an entrepreneur but unsure of where to start? If so, be sure to register to attend the FREE ADME Business Workshop, presented by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, along with the Small Business Development Center. The workshop will take place August 24, 2018 from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM CDT at Bethel Family Resource Center in Chicago Heights. This workshop is designed to assist new business start-ups and help individuals who are interested in entrepreneurship. During the workshop, subject experts will address the needs of first time business owners and those who are looking to pursue entrepreneurships.  This workshop will also provide guidance on the certification process. The State of Illinois provides certifications for Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE), and Person with Disability Owned Business Enterprise (PBE). Veteran Business Program (VBP) provides certification to Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses.

    Southwest Side 100K Opportunity Fair

    Are you between the ages of 16-24 and need a job? Are you out of work and out of school? We have the opportunity you've been waiting for!

    Join us on Friday, August 3rd for the Southwest Side 100K Opportunity Fair at the Rauner Family YMCA, located at 2700 S. Western Ave. in Chicago. Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, the 100k Opportunities Initiative and Thrive Chicago have teamed up to create this unique event featuring dozens of employers representing healthcare, logistics, retail, customer service and more! Companies including Chase, FedEx, GoHealth, SMASHotels, ULTA Beauty, UPS and more will be on hand conducting interviews and potentially hiring on the spot.

    The 100K Opportunities Initiative aims to bridge the opportunity divide for the millions of Americans, aged 16 – 24, who are out of school and not working. With millions of job openings, employers are looking to hire strong talent. Chicago 100K Opportunity Fairs forge connections between employers and the employees they need.
