  • Forum for Excellence This session will provide an overview of how:
    • Instructors use the Career Plan Builder with students to review their assessments, set goals, create steps to reach those goals, provide links to related career planning tools, and communicate progress.

  • Updated password reset.  When a partner updates the customers password, it creates a temporary password.  When the customer logs in, the screen they view has been simplified to  clearly show the two options for updating their password.

  • Updated the Career Plan partner view for adding services/steps. This impacts career plans across all programs.

  • NOCTI ordering tool updates include allowing:
    • A primary contact to approve multiple locations at once. 
    • User to select a location when ordering a test if they have access to order for more than one location.
May 10, 2019
  • Created a new export feature for the worksite placement report.
  • Updated NAICS code field in the worksite placement tool so that users can search by NAICS code.  Users can update the pre-populated NAICS Title to match the position job title, but the number is not editable.  The user would need to select a different code to change the number.
  • Updated account management so that new accounts that are created but never verified (marked as pending) are deleted after 7 days.

  • WIOA Summit Presentation
    • This session will share assessment best practice questions designed to help customers connect to training programs and services that are right for their skills, interests, personal goals, and current situation. The customer self-reported assessment questions have evolved from the implementation of targeted population projects in both urban and rural settings. Follow-up interview questions have been associated with assessment in order to gain a better understanding of the customers goals and situation. Learn how to apply these best practices to: 
      • Open discussion about training and career choices that involve more than just skills and competencies; 
      • Identify special accommodations or support services that may require a referral; and 
      • Identify strengths, areas for improvement, and ways their career planner/family can help them reach their career goals.

    • Employment 101 provides a complete set of tools and steps your students will need to develop a plan for reaching their career goals. This session provided an overview on how:
      • Customers can explore career opportunities through Skills and Interest Surveys.
      • Illinois workNet’s Resume Builder can be utilized by customers in the job search phase to assist with creating resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and more. 
      • Instructors use the Customer Support Center with students to review assessment results, set goals, offer resources to career planning tools, and communicate progress.

    • The Illinois workNet Career Plan is an interactive online tool for both students and instructors to provide career planning guidance to help students reach their career goals.  This is a recent addition to a suite of free Illinois workNet online partner tools in the Illinois workNet Customer Support Center.  This session provided an overview of how:
      • Instructors use the Career Plan Builder with students to review their assessments, set goals, create steps to reach those goals, provide links to related career planning tools, and communicate progress. 
      • Customers access their Career Plan and the tools available in their plan.
      • Instructors and customers can access related tools such as the Illinois workNet Resume Builder.

  • Updated the Illinois workNet Career Plan that is available for all Illinois workNet customers.  Updates include:
    • Customer can activate their own Career Plan that is prepopulated with four basic goals.  Each goal has basic steps that are linked to Illinois workNet resources.
    • Customers can set their own start/end dates, planned hours to complete, and notes.
    • Partners can start the pre-populated Career Plan for their customer.  They can also add/edit goals, steps, and earned credentials.

February 6, 2019

  • Updated Customer Support Center views for personal groups.  
    • Profile information was moved to the left panel.
    • Tabs were renamed and reordered to indicate steps or a process for adding customers/partners to the group. 
    • Moved instructions and related resources to a new tab.
  • Updated the Worksite Evaluation tool so staff could resend a request to complete the evaluation or indicate they are completing on behalf of the employer.
January 29, 2019
  • Customer Support Center Tool Instructions were added for the Worksite Placement module.  The Worksite Placement module is used with the Illinois workNet Career Plan.  Worksites that are in the system populate the related Illinois workNet Career Plan steps/services.  Learn more by reviewing the following article: Build a Career Plan in the Customer Support Center
