Purpose: Training providers use this tool to allow customers to personally assess their knowledge of or ability of their essential employability skills. The categories directly correlate with the Worksite Evaluation. This assessment is available for anyone using Illinois workNet. This evaluation provides the program partner a baseline level from the participants perspective as a starting point for education and evaluation.

Expectations:

  • Customer accesses and completes the evaluation. (< 5 min/customer)
  • Partner may review the rubric of skills to help the customer select an answer.  There are 10 skills that cover:  Computer Literacy, Attendance & Dependabilitiy, Self-Presentation, Communication Skills, Independence and Initiative, Teamwork, Positive Attitude, Problem Solving & Critical Thinking, Work Ethic, and Quality of Work.
  • Customers practice these skills during their training just as they would at their job.

 Results:

  • The self-evaluation does not have a grading component.
  • If the customer takes the self-evaluation more than once, the results are stored in the customer's profile in the Customer Support Center.
  • A report that tracks the initial self-evaluation, the most recent self-evaluation, the initial worksite evaluation and the final worksite evaluation is available in the customer's assessment section to allow conversation with the customer surrounding their level of demonstration of the Essential Employability Skills.
