The ILDS Governing Board established early childhood as a priority area for data integration.
Specifically, one of the key projects is to merge early childhood data that is maintained by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to better understand the characteristics and outcomes of children that are receiving early childhood services in Illinois.
The CDD administrator has successfully merged Childcare and Preschool data from these agencies to create an unduplicated count of children receiving services through State programs and for early childhood innovation zones. Preliminary findings have been presented to the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development.
