Laid-Off Worker Assistance​
​​If you or someone you know has been impacted by a layoff or facility closure or have received notice of a pending layoff or facility closure, you may be eligible for dislocated worker services at an Illinois workNet ® American Job Center near you.

 Illinois workNet® American Job Centers are comprehensive career centers that provide access to a variety of job seeker resources and connections to other human services agencies that you may need at this time. Illinois workNet ® American Job Centers also offer in-person resources, such as public access to a resource room to benefit job-seeking efforts, individualized career services, and access to training programs to make a job seeker more marketable.

Funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the United States Department of Labor, the services provided under this law aim to help job seekers and workers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in today's labor market.

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Act ​

Trade Adjustment Assistance Act - IMPORTANT NOTICE On July 1, 2022, the termination provision under Section 285(a) of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended, took effect. Until further notice, the Department may not issue any new determinations. Workers who were certified and separated from their job on or before June 30, 2022, may still be eligible for benefits and services. 
Individuals who have lost their job due to foreign trade may be eligible for additional benefits. For more information, view Trade Layoff Services​
