Illinois workNet will be presenting at the Career Connections Conference on March 3, 2020. Due to the need for additional CTE programs, this Career and Technical Education (CTE) conference will focus on the following goals:
- Improvement of instruction
- Better alignment to core academics
- Enhanced connections to career and postsecondary opportunities
At the conference there will be "hands-on and innovative learning opportunities that highlight various components of interdisciplinary education accentuated through CTE, including exploratory sessions, networking opportunities, industry-led partnerships, student showcases, educator recognition, apprenticeship programs."
Illinois workNet's presentation will provide an overview of workNet, the importance of employability skills, the Job Skills Guide, and the different assessments available on Illinois workNet.
Taking place throughout the state, the Career Connections Conference will be held on the following dates:
- Chicago – March 2-3
- Springfield – March 4-5
- Carbondale – March 9-10
