In Illinois Workforce Development Week is August 31 - September 6, 2015. With the week rounding out, Illinois workNet thought it would be a good idea to highlight the topic of Workforce Development and to see what it means to you.
The reason Workforce Development is highlighted is to show the vital role education and training play in helping Illinois residents prepare for in-demand careers, that provide employers with a skilled, qualified workforce to grow our state’s economy. With the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) going into effect on July 1, 2015, there is and will be a new era of collaboration and coordination of federal, state and local resources and workforce development programs.
