Why WIA Funding

If your funding went away, would your community care? A tough, but fair question, especially in this era of tight spending. We know WIA Works for Illinois, but does your community fully understand the impact?

WIA Works for Illinois is part of the National Workforce Investment Works Campaign, External link opens in a new window a storytelling website that helps policy makers and America understand the value of our workforce system.

Take these steps and follow these organizations in the campaign to keep WIA programs.

Step 1 Join the National Message: Tell Congress to Reject FY 2012 Job Training Cuts.Link opens in a new window 
            Sign the Restore WIA Funding Virtual Petition.External link opens in a new window 
            Join the Workforce Cause Facebook page.External link opens in a new window

Step 2 Familarize yourself with About WIA Works Link opens in a new window and WIA Research Link opens in a new window pages.

Step 3
Use the WIA Talking PointsLink opens in a new window and Outreach FlyerLink opens in a new window

Step 4Talk to your businesses and individual customers. Submit their WIA success stories automatically to this site and the National Workforce Investment Works Campaign.

Step 5Contact your Representatives Link opens in a new window to let them know WIA Works.
