Q: When an employee is offered employment with the buyer but refuses, is this considered an employment termination or a voluntary departure?

A: This situation is considered a voluntary departure, unless the offer constitutes a constructive discharge (see glossary), which could include situations where significant changes are made in employee’s wages, benefits, working conditions or job description.
