Filing for Illinois Unemployment Insurance

The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) now offers an online application process for filing Unemployment Insurance claims via the Internet.  This online service assists you in understanding:

  • How to apply for Unemployment Insurance via the Internet,
  • When you should apply,
  • The requirements for filing via the Internet, and
  • How to determine weekly benefit amounts.
