If you have been recently laid-off from your job due to a closure or dislocation event, services are available to assist you in your transition to new employment opportunities. These services include:

  • Resume and interview preparation software
  • Skills assessment and development software
  • State-of-the-art computers with Internet access, fax machines and phones for job search

  • Illinois workNet External link opens in a new window— the state's new online gateway to resources for businesses and jobseekers
  • Labor market information — such as wage data, local employer statistics, employment trends, etc.
  • Books and videos offering instruction on resume writing, interviewing, job searching and more
  • Assistive technology hardware and software for those with special needs

Services are available for individuals who have lost their jobs due the an employer closing their business or to down sizing. You may be eligible for programs and resources to assist you with your transition.

Additional Programs and Services

Job loss can be very stressful on both the dislocated worker and their families. Some benefits are no longer available to assist during this difficult time; however there are programs and services available.

Health insurance and prescription costs can be one of the toughest obstacles for a dislocated or displaced worker. There are plans and programs available for you and your family to utilize to assist with costs and finding a health care provider.
