Free Introduction to Illinois workNet classes are available at the workNet DuPage Career Center, 2525 Cabot Drive, Suite 302, Lisle, every Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please call to make a reservation, 630-955-2030. A Service Card is required to attend any events held at the workNet DuPage Career Center. Please stop by our Reception Desk to complete a short form to obtain your free Service Card.

Before you are laid off:

* Attend a pre-layoff workshop (presented by DuPage County Workforce Development Division Staff) to learn about services and resources available to you. For information on these workshops for Successories, LLC Employees, call Susi Pihera at 630-955-2041 or email spihera@worknetdupage.org

* Review all of your current benefits such as life insurance, health insurance, and pension fund in order to locate similar benefits within your budget. Follow the links below to learn more about:

* Register with Illinois Skills Match External link opens in a new window External link opens in a new window to find job openings that match your skills.

* Using the Illinois workNet portal prepare a resume and search for job listings in Illinois, complete a skill and interest self-assessment to help you identify potential career paths, and begin to research training programs both locally and throughout Illinois.

After you are laid off:

Use Illinois workNet to:

* File for Unemployment Insurance Benefits (under "Services" tab on Illinois workNet home page).

* Connect to counseling - locate needed services by category.

* Research other benefits that may be available to assist in your transition to re-employment.

    Trade Adjustment Act Notice
    Have you recently received a notification letter from your company regarding a lay-off due to the Trade Adjustment Act?

    If yes, please contact Diane Cooper at 630-966-1435 x 40077 to schedule your attendance at a meeting explaining benefits, rights and obligations.  You can attend a meeting at either location, but you must have an appointment scheduled before you attend.

  • Statewide Interest
    IL Home Weatherization Assistance Program
    The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program External link opens in a new window (IHWAP) is designed to help low income residents save fuel and money, while increasing the comfort of their homes. 

    Weatherization services are provided by local community action agencies or not-for-profit agencies throughout the state. You may contact the agency provider in your area External link opens in a new window to apply for weatherization services.

  • Illinois Department of Human Services
    Department of Human Services DHS helps Illinois families achieve self-sufficiency, independence and health to the maximum extent possible.  Visit the IDHS web site. External link opens in a new window

  • Low Income Energy Efficient Residential Retrofit Program

    More than $213,000 in grants will help existing low-income homeowners replace items such as refrigerators, furnaces, lighting, dishwashers and air conditioners with energy-efficient models.

    Legislation approved last year created funding for programs and incentives through money from ComEd and Ameren to reduce electrical energy usage and demand by company customers.
