  Bilingual Parent Resource Center

  Are you a bilingual or immigrant parent of a Chicago Public School student?  If so, visit the Bilingual Parent Resource Center of the Office of Language and Cultural Education, Chicago Public Schools.  The Bilingual Parent Resource Center offers many free services including:

  - ESL Classes

  - Parent Workshops

  -Leadership Development Training

  -Computer Classes

• Illinois Migrant Council

  The Illinois Migrant Council (IMC) operates the National Farmworker Jobs Program in the State of Illinois.  IMC's mission is to assist migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families in achieving economic self-sufficiency by providing supportive services and assistance to acquire new skills in occupations offering better pay and stable employment.

• Statewide Interest

  IL Home Weatherization Assistance Program

  The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) is designed to help low income residents save fuel and money, while increasing the comfort of their homes. 
  
  Weatherization services are provided by local community action agencies or not-for-profit agencies throughout the state. You may contact the agency provider in your area  to apply for weatherization services.

• Illinois Department of Human Services

  DHS helps Illinois families achieve self-sufficiency, independence and health to the maximum extent possible.  Visit the IDHS web site.



• Low Income Energy Efficient Residential Retrofit Program

  More than $213,000 in grants will help existing low-income homeowners replace items such as refrigerators, furnaces, lighting, dishwashers and air conditioners with energy-efficient models.
  
  Legislation approved last year created funding for programs and incentives through money from ComEd and Ameren to reduce electrical energy usage and demand by company customers.
