The DHS Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse provides comprehensive services throughout the state for the prevention, intervention, and treatment of alcohol and other drug abuse and dependency. These services include:

  • Case management,
  • Detoxification,
  • HIV testing and counseling,
  • Intensive outpatient services,
  • Early intervention, and
  • Residential rehabilitation

Alcoholics Anonymous - is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

Narcotics Anonymous - is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts which provides a recovery process and support network inextricably linked together.

The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) provides vital resources and information for individuals needing assistance through the Division of Mental Health and the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
