How can I appeal to an employer who found my information on the Internet?

Knowing that employers do search the Internet Link opens in a new window during the hiring process, it is important to keep communications professional. Thoroughly checking networking sites, past emails, message boards, and blogs for anything unprofessional will help the employers to focus on the positive aspects of potential employees.

Research yourself on the Internet. Use Google External link opens in a new window, Yahoo External link opens in a new window, or other search engines to find information related to your name on the Internet.

Make sure information that you are providing over the Internet represents the image that you want to portray to potential employers Link opens in a new window.
