Serve Illinois External link opens in a new window has commissioned 22 AmeriCorps programs across the state, and the number of programs and members is increasing due to the federal economic recovery effort.

    Members are volunteers who sign up for one year of full or part time service. Part time members receive an education award to go toward student loans. Full time members receive a living stipend, an education award to go toward student loans, health care and, if income eligible, child care benefits.
