Trade Adjustment Assistance

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and Alternate Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA)

The TAA and ATAA Programs are federally funded programs through the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration.  These programs are designed to support trade-affected workers who have lost their jobs due to shifts in production outside the United States or increased imports into the United States.

ATAA program benefits are provided as an alternative to the standard TAA program which allows for older workers, where training may not be appropriate, to accept employment at a lower wage and receive a wage subsidy.

Certified individuals may be eligible to receive one or more of the benefits or services depending on their need to become reemployed.

TAA Program Benefits and Services include:

  • Rapid Response Assistance
  • Reemployment Services
  • Job Search Allowances
  • Relocation Allowances
  • Training
  • Income Support
  • Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC)

ATAA Program Benefits and Services include:

  • Rapid Response Assistance
  • Reemployment Services
  • Wage Subsidy
  • Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC)
