Explore Education and Training Programs by Occupation

Use one of the search options below to find education and training programs offered by public community colleges and universities and private colleges and universities to include: technical and vocational schools; trade schools; art and design schools, and more.  Choose either Option 1 - to search an education or training program by occupational keyword, Option 2 - to search an education or training program by career area, or Option 3 - to search an education or training program by alphabetical listing.  After an education or training program is selected, a menu specific to the education or training program will be displayed on the left under Explore Education & Training Programs.

This training program menu may be removed by clicking on the (Clear) link to the right of the program title.

    Radiologic technologists use special equipment to create images of internal organs, tissues, and bones.

    Kishwaukee College Placement testing
        Compass placement testing, required for many students who plan to attend Kishwaukee College, is now available by appointment at the DeKalb Illinois workNet Center.  The full computerized assessment takes approximately two hours to complete, but may be taken in sections if desired or if only part of the test is required. 
        Individuals who are interested in attending classes in English as a Second Language may now take the BEST test at the DeKalb Illinois workNet Center.  This test is to determine an individual's skills in English in order to choose the most appropriate ESL class.
        Job seekers who need to document their keyboarding skills may take a "typing test" at the DeKalb Illinois workNet Center and present the results to an employer.

  • Truck Driver Training
    The Business and Industrial Development (BID) Center at Kishwaukee College offers truck driving training to prepare participants for the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) examination. The 160-hour course includes both a classroom and a behind-the-wheel portion. Interested persons must be at least 18 years old with a good driving record and meet other eligibility requirements.
