The Vision for Illinois Agriculture is a coalition of organizations (business, policy, education, government, etc.) working as partners in an industry wide effort aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Illinois agriculture in the global marketplace.
Activity is focused around five strategic themes designed to:
1. Attract the necessary human and capital resources
2. Create a favorable business environment
3. Improve community vitality
4. Advance intellectual and innovative resources
5. Be a catalyst for partnerships to grow and sustain the states food and agriculture industries
The Illinois Smart Agenda was established to provide a framework for action by state government and other entities to create a favorable environment in which agriculture and other industries could flourish (see the Vision website for more information).
