Resume Tools Comparison Link opens in a new window: This document compares several resume creation and storage tools. On July 1, 2011 these top five resume tools replaced the Illinois workNet Resume Builder.

Participants can write down their usernames and passwords on this 8.5 x 11 worksheet.

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Work Site Evaluation (MS Word)Link opens in a new window: This SYEP Youth Work Site Evaluation is for completion by the youth’s supervisor at their work site. When completing this evaluation on the next page, please keep in mind that some youth may have minimal work experience. Their placement with you will be a valuable learning experience that will lay the foundation for future jobs. Please review each of the 10 foundation evaluation items and score based upon youth learning how to use the workplace skills not expecting the youth to already know them. This will help youth learn from you as they practice and improve skills needed with any jobs they get in the future. Use the chart that begins on page 3 showing definitions for each rating. You can also complete the comments box to provide additional job performance information.

Content Management: Exploring Local Promos (August 29, 2012)

Work Readiness Tools for IWDS Customers, July 27 and August 18-19, 2011

DCEO WIA Policy Search on Illinois workNet Webinar: June 7, 2011
Effective Immediately: DCEO Policies are all available on Illinois workNet. IllinoisworkNet.com replaces the current DCEO website as the sole source for all policy pages. This webinar covers the new public facing search interface allowing interested parties to easily find, read, and print policies. Interested parties can subscribe to policy and receive automated update notices. Illinois workNet professionals and others with a need to refer to DCEO policy should review this webinar to learn more about this change.

Illinois Disability Benefits Estimator Webinar: May 23 & 27, 2011
This webinar announced the availability of a new tool to assist individuals with disabilities and workforce professionals in determining benefits scenarios. The tool supports adding income and examining what benefits change. It also indicates lesser known programs for which they may be eligible based on the calculations. The presentation demonstrated the tool but also discussed the goals for building the tool and how it connects individuals with questions to WIPA coordinators to start a discussion.

Incumbent Worker Tracking System (IWTS) Grantee Training Webinar (April 20th, 21st & 23rd)

Illinois workNet is hosting training webinars on the Incumbent Worker Tracking System (IWTS). The Illinois workNet portal will be used to track and report all incumbent worker training activities for DCEO issued grant funds. This includes ARRA Sector-based Initiatives and formula funds used by Local Workforce Investment Areas/Local Workforce Investment Boards. All incumbent worker projects begun on or after December 16, 2009 must be entered into IWTS.

All incumbent worker training grantees are required to participate with this webinar as they are responsible for submitting training project plans, tracking worker participation, and reporting.

The purpose of this Webinar is to:

  • Review how to access the Illinois workNet IWTS page
  • Learn how to submit a training project plan
  • Review how to submit quarterly reports.

ACTE Convention in St. Louis MO November 18, 2011
Illinois workNet work readiness programs uses a locally customized implementation plan that incorporates use the use of a series of assessments across their continuum of services to ensure work ready individuals. National assessments and skill enhancement resource are made available directly through the Illinois workNet portal at no cost to Illinois workNet partners. This program is used in conjunction with local skill enhancement resources. Through the use of technology the process is streamlined to provide communication tools to work with individuals and collect feedback from employers to ensure local programs are meeting local employer needs.

Case Manager Workflow Study (NCLR Conference, Chicago, IL - October 14, 2010)
Description: 
To improve the case management and services within Illinois’s 17 workNet® Centers and the City of Chicago Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the state’s Office of Employment & Training conducted a survey of providers to identify best practices for
the use of technology in assisting customers of Workforce Investment Act services.  Based on the survey and small group interviews, Illinois workNet is updating its customer and staff work-flow charts, identifying best practices in training programs, and recommending WIA policy enhancements.
