WIA Works Campaign

WIA worksWIA Works' goal is to ensure the workforce system is strengthened yet retains room for local innovation. Illinois workNet® provides information on the individuals pathway to help individuals and businesses understand the importance of this campaign. The workforce pathway provides materials for workforce professionals to provide outreach and guidance for action.

Step 1: Help others understand why WIA is important and how it has helped communities in Illinois.

Inform individuals and businesses on the purpose of the WIA Works Campaign Link opens in a new window and how WIA works for them Link opens in a new window.
  • Direct them to the WIA Works area Link opens in a new window of Illinois workNet and have them review the resources that are available on each page.
  • Read the success stories Link opens in a new windowthat are available in the WIA Works area of Illinois workNet.
  • Use the map Link opens in a new window to find WIA funded locations and partner sites across Illinois.
  • Explain that in order to continue to provide these services to Illinois' communities, we need their assistance.

Communicate the importance of local partners and businesses writing to congressional delegate.

Step 2: Provide materials and guidance to contact local representatives.

  • Follow-up by calling the representative's office.
