Follow the Local Content Policy


A Local Content Policy was developed to assist Local Workforce Investment Areas (LWIAs) with maintaining the quality and consistency of local information. 

Purpose:  Provide a framework for adoption by Local Workforce Investment Boards (LWIB) in tandem with their Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA). 

Adoption:  This policy was adopted to uphold standards and to ensure that those who use Illinois workNet will find the quality and consistency of information published to the portal of value and within the purpose and goals of Illinois workNet.

Prepare to Add Local Content


1.  Make sure the computer used for adding local content meets minimum requirements.

2.  Complete the Content Manager Online Course (Optional Series as part of the Certified Illinois workNet Advisor Online Course.)
a.  Go to the workforce partner pathway home page and click on Certified Illinois workNet Advisor Online course.
b.  Complete the required Foundation Modules.  This will unlock the Content Management Series.
c.  Complete the Content Management Series to gain access to the content management system.

Benefits include being able to distribute quality local content, market LWIA services and provide outreach to individuals and Illinois businesses. You can print this document on 8.5" x 11" paper.

3.  Review the local content rubrics. The Content Management Rubric has been developed as a tool to objectively measure the extent to which local content is being deployed.

Gather Local Content


1.  Develop a plan.

2.  Collect local content from partners or encourage them to become an Illinois workNet local content manager author.
Post Local Information Request (Web)

3.  Provide current contact information for partners to submit content to local Illinois workNet representatives.
