Assisting Businesses

The Assisting Businesses Page provides workforce and education partners with the tools, guidance, and resources needed to assist local employers. Use the following steps to make the most of the resources available through the Business Pathway.

Step 1
 

Become familiar with the resources available on the Business Pathway. 

Illinois workNet provides businesses with the tools to:

RECRUIT Mature Workers, People with Disabilities, Veterans and Youth to find the best employees; 

TRAIN and upgrade the skills of their current workforce with Customized, Incumbent Worker, and On-the-Job Training programs. There is also information on employer incentives like the Employer Training Investment Plan;

DEVELOP local businesses with a range of resources for entrepreneurs and established firms like our webinar series for Starting a Business, Labor and Economic Data, Lending, and our Social Media webinar series that will teach businesses the basics of establishing a social media presence, how to maintain it, and how to implement effective social media policies in the work place.

Step 2




Business Services Team Members have core knowledge in functions necessary to meet business needs:

  • Use of Illinois workNet,
  • Awareness and application of local, state, and federal business resources,
  • Knowledge of business demands and expectations, and
  • The ability to create solutions for common business needs.

Business Services Team members are able to assist businesses with Outreach, Recruitment Services, Business Branding, and other business needs.

Business Services Tab on the Workforce Partners Pathway:
The BST page is the primary resource page for BST members and includes tools, guidance, and resources for each part of their employer activity. Users must request access to view this page.
