Employer Based Training Services

To be competitive in the market place, business owners need to have the best employees for their business. That may require those business owners to provide training to retain their best employees, or hire new individuals that will be trained to do the job. Either way, Illinois workNet can offer a number of resources to help those business owners meet those training needs.

Here are a few examples:

  • Business B just purchased 5 new machines that include updated computer systems and software. Their employees need skills training to be able to operate those new machines. Answer: Customized training

  • Business M needs to hire 28 new employees to fill a second shift. They have gone through the interview process but are not finding enough employees to fill the shift. Answer: On-the-job training

  • Business T has 5 employees that they would like to promote, but they lack a few specific skills. All of the employees would qualify for the new position if they had training. Answer: Incumbent Worker Training.

Many of these training opportunities could result in cost reimbursement for training or tax credits for hiring certain demographic of employees. Check below for Specific Programs and credits. Check our Materials list for the associated flyers.
