It's tax season once again, and the April 17th deadline is approaching quickly. If you haven't yet filed your taxes, now is the time to do so!
Illinois workNet has two articles that can help you if you prepare your taxes. Both these articles have been updated with new information for the new year. If you're looking for general tax guidance, check out Tax Preparation 101. If you received unemployment benefits last year, check out our latest Unemployment Insurance and Taxes article. We pulled together information from the IDES website that you will need to know in order to file. Take the time to read through the article so you understand what is expected of you if you have to file using your 1099-G form. You can find the 1099-G Form from the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) webpage. They also provide instructions on getting or downloading your records. http://www.ides.illinois.gov/Pages/1099G%20form.aspx
